Dogtags...Rosaries....

I've been working on a poem called "Dogtags and Rosaries" in which I will be working through and discovering God through the life of a soldier.  This poem has been in my thoughts for close to a year now.
This poem stems from my wonder of God as being the God of dogtags and rosaries.  The God I serve is the God of everything from dogtags to rosaries, barstools to church pews, the finest spirits to the holiest waters.
The Good Book says, "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."  I may make mistakes and I might screw up but I want to be always known as David was, "a man after God's own heart."  I want to serve God and lead my house in loving and worshiping and serving the Big Guy Upstairs.
Life is in need of redemption and renewal.  We need to raise a new generation is the ways of the Lord.  Lead them to realize that God is  found not only in the church pew but also in the bar stool.  My God, How Great thou art.

First Post

This first post will be nothing but a rambling about who I am.  First off, I am a rebel with a cause.  That cause is Shalom, pure and simple.  I am a devout Christian who is sold out to the cause of Christ--feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the wounded, caring for the widowed and orphaned, etc.  I love Rob Bell and Shane Claibourne.
Second, I live in the Central Valley of California.  I was born and raised a country boy.  I love eating good food (especially bacon and chimichangas).  I am Hispanic, Cajun, and Cherokee.
Last, I love listening to music.  Some of my favorite people to listen to are Skillet, Suidakra, AC/DC, Big Daddy Weave, U2, Kid Rock, Craig Morgan, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Eminem, Frank Sinatra, Casting Crowns, Mumford and Sons, and Brandon Heath.
There y'all go, a bit about who I am.  I hope y'all enjoy what I post later.
